I find what Gloria (the woman in pink) said about Americans not making an effort to learn other people's language is the complete opposite of Bruneians.
Yeah -- the complete opposite of Bruneians. So when someone does try and learn your language (like me), most Bruneians absolutely refuse point blank to speak it to me. I have never been anywhere else where people are so opposed to foreigners trying to speak their language, where people actually get quite hostile when foreigners try and speak their language. Never mind. I keep on trying.
